So coming in to this project, I had so many questions about game development. Some of those questions were: How long will it take? Or like it very hard like I think it is? And the answer for those 2 are, no. Making a 2D game is very short and very easy if you are willing to sacrifice time, and effort into this. I really liked this project.
I did this because I always wanted to create my own game. Since like 8th grade, I was looking forward to doing this. I am very interested in Game Engineering and Programming so that's why I did it. I also did this game because I know that I am capable of this. Questions also included: Am I able to sacrifice lots of time and more to complete this,
To make this game , it very easy. I used a Game development software called Unity. Unity is great for 2D games and even 3D. I had little knowledge on Unity, but it was easy to learn. And that was something I liked.
I created a runner game. Its basically jumping from places and places, without falling in gaps, getting hit by obstacles and much more. You can basically get your game in your computer and play it. I found out that so far its really fun and coming together.
My results are very important. This is why. From that, i now know that I am capable of so many things more. My conclusion that I can draw from my results is that I should make more games (more advanced). I learned that hard work pays offs in everything.
I think i could've put in more time in this. Because of all the school stuff I had to manage time. I didn't have much time like before. BY doing that I think it could've been much better. I could improve by taking more time on details. The next steps are remaking similar games but with more effort.
So, the idea of creating a runner game came from me. I really like playing these games on my cellphone and always wanted to make one. My brother has a lot of programming knowledge and has created games himself, so he also helped me fix errors. (I still made the whole game on my own.)
This submission shows a dedication to an interest in video games and the thoughtful approach in determining the actions needs to make the game a reality. Your ability to determine the platform of the program (Unity), develop/import the tile sets and scripts needs, and carry through with necessary selection and coding shows a strong sense of individual growth to achieve your dreams. For this submission, it would be great to see a video of the prototype in action along with real-time feedback describing the specific challenge and success you encountered in the process.
