The project is about dogs' affectionate behaviors. It consisted of a field study where my group and I analyzed and observed our dogs' behavior around different people.
We wanted to answer the question, how do dogs show affection towards different people? Besides the main question that sparked the investigation, we needed first to answer this one, how do dogs demonstrate affection towards humans? We can all consider in my group to be dog lovers, having one each of our own. Still, we did not know how they expressed devotion.
To start our field study, we identified our variables; the independent variables were the different people in the family that are going to participate in the field study, the dependent variables are the times the dog demonstrates an affectionate behavior towards that family member. We gathered three different dogs and nine family members to participate in our investigation.
Now, after all this time observing, we can validate that dogs show devotion equally towards people, especially if they are family members. There is no relationship between different people & the times' dogs showed an affectionate behavior based on our data & analysis.
We can validate that dogs show devotion equally towards people, especially if they are family members. There is no relationship between different people & the times' dogs showed an affectionate behavior based on our data & analysis. This is important because after all, a dog's actions can tell us a lot about their moods
Maybe to get an even more accurate conclusion, we could have done the investigation with strangers. Though right now, based on the circumstances the world is in, it would have been harder to get data.
The idea of the project is from Mrs. Barnett, my wonderful biology teacher. She guides my group and me through the project to make everything smoother and more comfortable.
The topic of the project is very interesting given that it is something that many people from different walks of life can relate to. I liked how you organize the study and how succinctly the observations were conducted and analyzed. I would have liked the see the study done with a bigger population sample.
