During this quarantine, our art class continues, even though we do not have the materials that we would like to encounter at home and develop the skills to use them.
In moments of crisis, we learn that working with ideas replaces any art media. We should remember that what makes an artist grand is not the supplies but the different points of view and originality to create one work.
Every year we have an art show to exhibit students' works. Due to the hard times we are crossing, we decided to make a website with the works produced during this quarantine instead of making a big show. Please understand that some artworks could take time to load or were not uploaded due to technical difficulties (children kept all their artwork at home in case parents want to see).
We are very proud to present this Art Show, and we hope you can enjoy our student's incredible work.
Dear ASA Community:
I am Mrs. Mabel Avila, the ASA Middle School, and High School art teacher.
I never imagined living through a pandemic and having to teach art online. However, I continue working to do my best and enjoy my classes even though differently, with innovative educational goals and new approaches to the subject.
From now on, the world will change, and we need to change along with it.
Best wishes,
Mabel Avila
Thank you Vitoria Cunha for having this idea and helping make it a reality.
Thank you Diana Montiel for your contribution to make all this possible.
