Issues Online is for students in secondary school and further education. Browse over 70 PSHE-related topics to find thousands of carefully selected articles, up-to-date stats and information. All PSHE topics and resources are available online through a fully searchable database. There are also Issues Books in the library to browse.
Find out about Scottish culture and heritage. Historic Environment Scotland offers access to over 400,000 images and media through SCRAN online. Access through the school's GLOW tile and here https://www.scran.ac.uk/
Contains resources on different topics, themes and areas within the Scottish curriculum at different teaching levels. There are images of original sources, transcripts and background notes. These can be used by teachers or pupils in planning their teaching and learning to support classroom projects and the curriculum.
It's free to join the National Library of Scotland. As a member you can access e-resources remotely. These include digitised items from the library's collections, online access to books, journals, newspapers, databases and map images including historical maps with satellite image overlay.
JSTOR provides free access to a huge range of scholarly content and is one of the many useful e-resources you can access with your National Library of Scotland membership.

RGU offers free full access to a selection of academic resources including journal articles and book chapters. There is a search bar on the library homepage. Enter your search term and when the results appear, use the menu on the left of the page to narrow your search results. Use the menu to restrict results to "Open Access" to get full text.
Aberdeen university also offers free access to academic resources. Hover over "Quick Links" on the homepage and select "Library" then scroll to "Primo" to search for information then use the menu to restrict results to "Open Access".
Google Scholar can be a useful resource for finding information, but be wary - not every result will be credible. Therefore, you must evaluate results to check if the information is reliable. One way to do this is to use the CRAAP test. Some results may have restricted access and only show abstracts.
