National 5 Modern Studies is a course that aims to provide learners with the skills to not just understand the world around them and the contemporary issues therein, but to analyse these issues; to debate them; to identify and explain solutions; and, to identify their place within society as an active citizen. The course content is determined by the SQA, who set and mark the two core assessments (an 80-mark, 2 hour, 20 minute exam and an assignment). Find out more below.
