Cookery - Measuring Skills

P1-5 put their measuring skills to the test by making purple smoothies and chocolate bark using recipes from their new Reading Schools cookery book.

Outdoor Classroom - Deeside Willow

World Book Day

One of our parents, Sylvia, helped us to celebrate World Book Day. She told several stories accompanied by her many puppets!

Ski Trip

Some before and after shots of our two days at the Lecht. Pupils showed real determination and skill. You can feel their sense of achievement in the second photo. This was after their last session on the slopes!

Fairtrade

P1 -7 pupils in a workshop on Fairtrade Clothes delivered by Jude Bain. There was a particular focus on the clothing industry in Bangladesh and the award-winning Fair Trade work of Professor M. Azizul Islam at Aberdeen University.@aberdeenuni

Rugby

P4-7 pupils are enjoying taking part in a rugby sessions delivered by Finlay Hall from Deeside Rugby. Thanks to @ASAberdeenshire for organizing this opportunity.

Childsmile

Childsmile came to Logie Coldstone today to help us to understand what we need to do to look after our teeth.

Information Handling

P1-5 started learning about information handling in maths. What colour will be rolled most in 5 minutes? We used cubes and links to build our ‘graph’. We could answer lots of questions about the information we gathered.

Nativity

We had a wonderful Nativity This week. It was lovely to be supported by our community as we began our Christmas celebrations.

Community Cafe

Christmas has officially started in Logie Coldstone. We had a wonderful welcome at the Community Cafe in the Village Hall. It was so nice to share our singing with everyone. Thank you so much for the cakes and juice! We will definitely be back!

Open Afternoon

So many Parents and Friends came to our Open Afternoon on Wednesday. The pupils showcased their learning through presentations and walk-arounds. Strong Pupil Voice displayed

Remembrance

‘We remembered them’ at 11 o’clock. An assembly led by the pupils. We were delighted to be joined by friends of the school and members of our community.

Mosaic

Our pupils worked with Maggie Patience to create the most marvellous mosaic of our school. Thank you to the Parent Council for supporting this.

Belwade Visit

P2-5 had a wonderful day at Belwade Horse Welfare Farm near Aboyne! Finding out how to care for and rehome horses. A super trip!

Learning Outdoors

All pupils created images using found material. Some chose to work together, some chose to work alone. The choice was theirs. The results were amazing!

Aberdeen Biodiversity Centre

We had a wonderful trip to the Biodiversity Centre yesterday at Aberdeen University. We spent some time thinking about what biodiversity means, different types of plants, why plants are important, and how many different and interesting ways plants have been useful throughout history. Thank you to our parent, Jude, for suggesting this wonderful opportunity.
