PI, Assistant Research Fellow Ryota Sakamoto rskamoto@as.edu.tw | CV Ryota Sakamoto is an experimental biophysicist interested in biological self-organization and the engineering of life-like systems. He joined Academia Sinica in 2025 after completing postdoctoral training at Yale University in the US, where he focused on the biological assembly of the purified actin cytoskeleton in artificial cells. His research bridges physics and cell biology, building on his Ph.D. in Physics from Kyushu University in Japan, where he investigated the non-equilibrium physics of cytoskeletal self-organization. In his lab, he is dedicated to fostering critical thinking and a scientific approach to problem-solving—skills that are essential for success in both academia and industry.
