PSO (Parent Support Organization) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit foundation committed to providing encouragement, volunteers, and funding as needed for education programs, enrichment items, and community events to better our school, staff, and families at Art Rutkin Elementary.

The PSO is comprised of the Executive Board, Committee Chairs, Volunteers and Members.
The PSO plays a critical role in raising the funds needed to support the school. Please consider a board or committee chair position. If you cannot commit to a board or a chair position, please consider contributing your efforts as an active member. We are still seeking Event Chairs and/or Committee Support for all 25/26 PSO events.

Shelbie Renner
Shelbie is a full-time working mom of two boys, one starting first grade this year and a two-year-old. Shelbie grew up in the Tigard/Tualatin area and was actively involved during her first year at Art Rutkin, leading events such as the Fun Run, Bingo Night, Read-a-Thon, and Yearbook. She's excited for the new school year and to be part of the school's continued growth!

Stephanie Winn
Stephanie is a working mom of a future first grader. Her family moved from the Midwest 2 years ago and they have quickly jumped into loving the PNW life. She was actively involved in the PSO last year as the Procurement Coordinator and chairing the yearbook! Stephanie’s goal is to grow the PSO community with the current and new Art Rutkin families!

Shannon is a full-time working mom of two boys—Riley (3rd grade) and Mason (8th grade). She has been actively involved with the PSO since its inception, serving as President in its first year and as Treasurer for both the second and current year. Shannon is excited to see the school continue to grow and warmly welcomes all the new families to the wonderful Art Rutkin community.

Leah has a 3rd grader and a toddler, with her husband, Trevor. She grew up in Seattle, graduated from Eastern Washington University and has been working for Pacific University since 2009 in Graduate Admissions. Her family keeps her busy, but if she ever has free alone time, she likes to read, eat dessert and try out the most recent art project she saw on Pinterest.
As the Staff Appreciation Chairperson, you plan and execute meals or snacks for teachers throughout the year as needed or desired. Plan and execute Staff Appreciation Week in May by organizing luncheons, gifts, etc. Work with the Board to honor staff members during other national recognition days/weeks.

As a Community Events/Dine Out Coordinator, you plan dine-outs and community events throughout the year. Coordinate dates with local restaurants and, when needed, submits flyers to the print shop and ensures distribution to classrooms.

As a OBOB Co-Chairperson, you establish a system for student participation in OBOB. Organize club meetings, permission slips, and the battle schedule. Collaborate with the librarian for guidance and book selection. Prepare participation certificates signed by the principal. Register the school with the state-run OBOB program.

As a Volunteer Coordinator, you manage and maintain the volunteer database. Partner with the Executive Board and Event Chairs to identify volunteer needs, recruits volunteers as needed, and helps communicate with and coordinate volunteers for various events and activities.

As a Procurement Coordinator, you collaborate with a team of volunteers to reach out to local businesses for donations supporting events like the Jog-a-Thon, Read-a-Thon, Family Nights, and the Auction. Maintains a master list of all contributing businesses.
