Webinar FAQs

How do I get the Articulate tab in PowerPoint?

With Articulate 360, you have access to Studio 360 which you can install and this will add the Articulate tab. From there you have access to the Content Library resources.

How do I get the video into my LMS?

Upload the video using Articulate Review. Then export of LMS. That gives you a SCORM wrapper to use the video as a trackable course.

Where did Tom get the slide templates?

I installed Studio 360 and that inserts the Articulate tab in PowerPoint. From there, you have access to the Content Library templates. They’re the same template styles as in Storyline 360.

How do I get access to the audio/image files inside of PowerPoint?

You can open the .pptx file and access the media folder. Here’s how.

If you import the slides into Storyline 360, you can access the assets in the media library and get to them that way.

If the slides are images, how do I handle accessibility requirements.

Since the slides are images, you’d need to use alt text as you would for any other image. If you’re building for accessibility, then you want to look at all options and saving as image may not be the best.

Also, with interactive content, you want to pre-plan how you’ll build it with accessible considerations. Many people build and then try to retro fit and that may cause issues.

My slides look bad, what can I do?

Check out the design mapping tips above.

When you do a save a PowerPoint as .MP4, what happens to the audio and animations?

The entire presentation is saved in the video. This includes audio, animations, transitions, and even other videos. Check out the Duarte video above.

Can I batch import slide images into Rise?

Yes and no. It depends on the interaction. Most of them, you’ll select the image block and upload a new image. There are some blocks made of multiple images (carousel, image grid). Those allow batch images.

How can I create a template with our company logo to use for always beginning a storyline file?

You can create a custom template and always use that as a starting point. Here are some links to help if you're using Team Slides or regular templates.

Why would I use Rise versus Storyline?

Here’s an article that addresses it. Generally, I’d start with Rise because it’s easy to use and does most of what you need, especially for these PowerPoint conversions.

Storyline makes more sense when you have a lot of custom interactions. You can also insert your Storyline interactions into Rise, thus getting the best of both worlds. Here’s a post on how I’d approach this to save time and money.

Are there tutorials for beginners? How do I learn more about using Rise and Storyline 360?

We have all sorts of tutorials and resources in the community and be sure to take advantage of the training webinars.

How do I get the Storyline or Rise course into my LMS?

In Storyline, go to publish (in Rise, go to Export) and select LMS and the preferred settings. You’ll get a zip file to upload.
