What to Bring and Have Prepared
All students are required to complete the following steps as soon as possible:
✓ Activate Your ARTIC account: To make online deposits, view financial aid, and review billing information, you need to activate your ARTIC account. This account also provides access to your SAIC email, Self-Service, library databases, and much more. Please note that you will need your SAIC ID number (included in your admission letter) in order to complete this process.
✓ Student ID and Ventra U-Pass: Submit your photo for the ARTICard and Ventra U-Pass and make sure to make an appointment to pick it up. Check your SAIC email for a personalized link to submit your photo. More details can be found on the ARTICard/U-Pass and FAQ pages.
✓ Submit your immunization records: SAIC requires documentation of immunizations. Instructions for entering immunization dates and uploading documents can be found here.
✓ Laptop Requirements: All incoming undergraduate students are required to own an Apple MacBook Pro to meet curricular needs. Please visit saic.edu/laptop to see more information regarding the school’s laptop recommendation.
✓ Emergency Contact Information: Please update your emergency contact information in SAIC Self-Service so we can reach out to your support networks in case of an emergency. Follow these simple steps to update your information:
1. Log into SAIC Self-Service
2. Click on Emergency Contact, which is listed on the lower left side
3. Add one or several emergency contacts
