ARTICard/U-Pass Pick-up

Getting Around Campus and the City:
The ARTICard/U-Pass office is located in the Sharp Building, 37 South Wabash Avenue, 2nd floor, Room 254. It's open Monday–Friday 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Students make an appointment to pick up their ARTICard and U-Pass in the ARTICard office. You must have a valid government issued ID (driver's license, state ID, or passport) for pick up.

You must be registered full-time to pick up the U-Pass. Transfer students with a U-Pass from another Chicago-area school will not need a new U-Pass. Instead, email articard@saic.edu with the card information so it can be transferred to SAIC.

ARTICard and U-Pass Express Registration:
You can avoid lines during the first week of school and have an ID photo you like by electronically submitting your ARTICard and CTA U-Pass photo before arriving on campus.

Submit your photo! Check your SAIC email for a personalized link to submit your photo. The deadline to submit your photo is January 3.

The online photo submission application is designed to greatly speed up the process by which new ARTICards are created. Applicants will encounter an easy self-edit process that will ensure that we are able to load your best ID picture onto the ARTICard in advance of your arrival on campus.

Prior to submitting a photo, be sure to read the instructions and photo guidelines carefully.  Photos that do not meet the specified criteria may be rejected, and you will have to submit another photo.  Upon approval of your submitted photo (and 1-2 business days for processing), you will be able to pick up your shiny new ARTICard!
