Fall 2024 Orientation and Welcome Week

Welcome to SAIC! Whether you are new to college or SAIC, the process of entering a new community is a time of transition. We are here to guide you through that transition in the weeks ahead.

This website is designed to help undergraduate students, graduate students, transfer students, and undergraduate families prepare for their arrival to SAIC. Please check the website frequently, as we will post updates and more detailed information as it becomes available. Have questions? Email us at orientation@saic.edu.

We announced on 6/17/24 that the Move-in and Welcome Week schedules are being adjusted to accommodate anticipated traffic, hotel and congestion issues related to the Democratic National Convention. Please review this site for schedule details.

Please contact us at orientation@saic.edu if you have any questions. We look forward to welcoming you to campus in August!

For accommodation options please take a look at our Where to Stay page.

Residence Hall Move-In for the Fall 2024 semester will be held on: Saturday, August 24th and Sunday, August 25th

Room and roommate assignments are sent to students via their SAIC email later this summer. Specific details about the move-in process will be included in this email. For more details about move-in, including how to ship your belongings to campus check out the Residence Life Move-In webpage. On behalf of the Residence Life team, we can't wait to welcome you to campus!

The Online Orientation Course for students and Parents and Families will launch in August and will provide you with information and resources that will be vital to your SAIC experience. Through interactive content, you’ll learn more about what tools and supports you will find at SAIC, including campus engagement, career-focused information, financial aid, and the academic experience. The course features software downloads, which will be required for your classes.
Please note there is a New Student Orientation Course and Welcome Week charge of $225 which is automatically applied to the new student's tuition bill.
