What to Bring and Have Prepared
What to Bring and Have Prepared
All students are required to complete the following steps as soon as possible:
✓ Activate Your ARTIC account: To make online deposits, view financial aid, and review billing information, you need to activate your ARTIC account. This account also provides access to your SAIC email, Self-Service, library databases, and much more. Please note that you will need your SAIC ID number (included in your admission letter) in order to complete this process.
✓ Student ID and Ventra U-Pass: Submit your photo for the ARTICard and Ventra U-Pass. Check your SAIC email in early July for a personalized link to submit your photo.
✓ Make an appointment to pick up your ARTICard and U-Pass: Students living in the 162 North State Street Residences and Jones Hall do not need to make an appointment. You will receive your ARTICard and U-Pass when you check-in at the residence hall during your scheduled move-in date. You must present a valid government-issued photo ID or passport for pick-up. Make an appointment here.
✓ Submit your immunization records: SAIC will require COVID-19 vaccines for all students who intend to be on campus for any period of time starting in the fall 2022 term, in addition to the vaccines required by the Illinois College Immunization Code. Instructions for submitting records to the SAIC Health Services Patient Portal and information about requirements can be found at saic.edu/health. Please submit all immunization records by July 1.
✓ Laptop Requirements: All incoming undergraduate students are required to own an Apple MacBook Pro to meet curricular needs. Please visit saic.edu/laptop to see more information regarding the school’s laptop recommendation. A note on purchasing a new laptop: Due to possible supply chain issues and delays with shipping. SAIC highly suggests that if you are buying a new laptop before the Fall 2023 term, that you purchase a laptop as soon as you can and not wait till right before the next school term begins.
✓ Emergency Contact Information: Please update your emergency contact information in SAIC Self-Service so we can reach out to your support networks in case of an emergency. Follow these simple steps to update your information:
Log into SAIC Self-Service
Click on Emergency Contact, which is listed on the lower left side
Add one or several emergency contacts
This list from Admissions is also useful in terms of making sure you are all set!
