Activating Student Artic Accounts & Troubleshooting

To activate their ARTIC Account, students will need to:

• Go to password.artic.edu

• Select Activate Account

• On the Verification screen, enter the words displayed and select Verify

• Enter your 7-digit SAIC ID number (provided above)

• Enter your Last Name

• Enter your Birthdate using this exact date format: DD-MMM (e.g., 22-FEB)

• Select Activate

Your username is automatically assigned, but you will create your own password, which must be alphanumeric and at least six characters. Be sure to record your account information for future reference.

Visit gmail.artic.edu. Use the username and password from above to log in.

Common Issues

I emailed a student, and their email bounced back. Do I have the wrong student email address?

No, students who have not yet activated their Artic account will not be able to receive emails yet. Once they activate their account, the email address will be live. Please reach out to them at the provided home email address and let them know they must activate their account using the instructions above.

My student is getting an error message despite inputting the correct information when activating their account.

This occurs sometimes because of an internal error. Have the student reach out to CRIT directly at 312-345-3535, and they will be able to resolve the issue quickly.
