Search for Off-Campus classes in Self Service at saic.edu/students
All incoming undergraduate students are required to complete two classes of off-campus study with the exception of BAAH students, who are required to complete three credits of off-campus study toward their degree. Courses that satisfy the off-campus requirement can also satisfy degree requirements for studio, liberal arts, and/or art history credit.
Consultation with an academic advisor is recommended to confirm course selections that fulfill the off-campus study requirement.
*Transfer students who are awarded at least 12 transfer credits, but less than 36 transfer credits are required to complete three credits of off-campus study requirements. Transfer students who are awarded 36 credits or more are waived from the requirement.
All undergraduate students are required to complete global awareness and social responsibility requirements toward their degree. Courses that satisfy this requirement may also satisfy the off-campus study requirement and/or degree requirements for studio, Liberal Arts, and / or Art History credit, and may be taken at any time during their undergraduate studies.
Global Awareness and Social Responsibility options include classes designed to help students foster an interconnected awareness and a commitment to engage in socially responsible practices that positively
influence both local and global communities.
Consultation with an academic advisor is recommended to confirm selections that fulfill the global awareness and social responsibility requirement.

Transfer students are required to complete one course at any level to meet the requirement.
In a browser, go to saic.edu/students and select Self Service
Click on Manage Classes
Choose Class Search and Enroll from the menu on the left then the term (IE Fall 2026)
Search keywords, like Global Awareness
After searching, Click on the button for Class Attribute on the bottom left hand side menu
You should then see all classes to choose from that would fulfill that requirement. Just as a reminder, you need at least one 1000-2000 level course, and one 3000-4000 course during your entire time at SAIC.
