The Power of Podcasts

Interviews With Isaac Udelhofen About His Podcast

As many of you know, Isaac Udelhofen has been making his own form of media: The Arcadia Podcast. The podcast is a wonderful friday-afternoon refuge with everything from news to simple advice-giving entertainment. In an interview with Isaac, he shares his motives and plans.

What motivated you to do the podcast?

I have been listening to a lot of podcasts and they have been bringing me a lot of joy. So I got the inspiration to create my own to hopefully spread that joy.

What's your favorite part of making the podcast?

My favorite part is probably reading the questions that the listeners send me and figuring out how to answer them.

What's your goal for the podcast?

Again, my goal is to spread joy, but also to learn what it is like to host a podcast, which has been really fun

What do you want listeners to walk away with when they listen to the podcast?

In this time of COVID I think that it's important to stay positive and to be happy. So I guess I want my listeners to walk away with the fact that even though the world is in shambles we can still laugh.

What have you learned from making the podcast?

I have learned all you really need to make a podcast is a recording device like a phone, or computer, both of which have editing softwares and boom... podcast! I have learned how to use my time wisely because I only have a week for each episode and I have learned how to write professional sounding emails to book guests.

What would you do differently if you had another chance?

What's nice about having a weekly podcast is that if something needs to change I can change it in the next episode. You really get to learn and change things as you go. For example, right now i'm using a headset that has this constant buzzing that's annoying to edit out, so I'm getting a new microphone.

Overall, this experience has been super fun and challenging, I totally recommend it!
