Whether your tree(s) are dead or alive, large or small, rural or suburban; we climb and rig as needed to bring them down safely. We will take down just about any tree as long as it is at least 10 feet from high-voltage power lines (Oregon Law).
Once the tree is down, we buck the logs and large branches to firewood lengths. Of course, we are happy to remove them if you wish but most customers want to keep or sell the firewood to offset the cost of the tree removal (so we leave an orderly pile).
Our preferred method for removing material from your property is trailering. Some customers maintain a burn pile or want the branches chipped on site for use in their own garden/landscaping. Handling debris in different ways is reflected in the cost of your tree service quote.
Sometimes trees such as this giant heirloom apple need to have live material removed in order to save the tree. This tree was falling apart due to heart wood decay. We can properly prune neglected fruit trees to bring them back into optimal production and prevent structural failure.
Sometimes trees need large branches removed for clearance, safety, or view. In this instance we rope climb without climbing spurs to protect the tree bark. Careful rigging brings down heavy material without scarring the tree itself or damaging structures below.
Final cuts are made with sanitized pruning saws reduce the risk of bacterial infection. All cuts are made outside the branch collar so that the tree has the best opportunity to close and compartmentalize the cut. In some instances exposed wood is sealed with Tanglefoot™ Tree Wound Sealer to prevent water and insect infiltration.
Trees & stumps are often located beside obstacles that make removal with a large commercial stump grinder cumbersome. For challenges like this, we use a compact grinder that can get through small gates and into tight spots safely.
This 14-hp grinder does not cut as aggressively as a conventional commercial stump grinder so it creates a fine mulch rather than large wood chips. We still grind the roots to at least 6-inches below grade but the final product is much more appealing and breaks down into mulch faster.
We strive to leave a clean and tidy workspace when we are done. In this instance, the barkdust was raked back before grinding the stump and then replaced to maintain a uniform appearance. You would never know there was a 100' Grand Fir rooted beside this fence!
As your tree(s) come down they are going to make a huge mess. Don't worry! The mess is temporary and just part of the process.
As work progresses, felled material is removed in order to maintain a safe work area around and below the tree(s).
Homeowners should NOT have to clean up after Contractors! Rakes and a leaf blower are a part of every job we do. We believe our job isn't complete until the worksite is clean.
