If you are reading this, you probably are:
Interested in being an instructor at AG Open 2025
OR
Very confused and looking for the AG Open 2025 registration. (Which if you are, click the button at the top of this page.)
Below is the update to AG Open's workshop & Lecture format for 2025, along with both forms for you to fill out, either one or both.
Instead of traditional classes, instructors will be available in the sparring area for a 1 hour long “Ask Me Anything” type format. This means that if you have a lot of people participating you can run through a traditional class, or if it’s a few people you can run though your perspectives or any questions that they want to ask you about fencing, or even if it’s one person you can take the time to free fence them and give some advice.
In order to give a little more focus, and make it less intimidating for someone to come up and speak to our instructors, we ask you to submit 2-4 topics that you feel are your specialties and you’d particularly like to work with people on.
Examples: “transitions from fencing to grappling”, “fencing activities for conditioning”, “direct attacks”, “learning to adapt in a match”.
The lecture format is a 50 minute lecture and 10 minute question period, happening in a lecture room directly across the tournament hall. We are looking for submissions that relate to German Medieval/Early Renaissance fencing, but which can range from historical context lectures to modern sport science application.
You may submit 2 lecture topics and we’ll let you know which we feel fits the event the best. (Though I guess nothing is stopping you from doing this form multiple times to get many ideas in front of us.)
Forms can either be out here or be opened in a new tab
