― Toni Morrison

Books Are Printed!
Over February vacation final drafts were professionally printed at Amherst Copies, made possible by a generous grant from the WW PGO. By March, our school library will feature 48 student-authored nonfiction books, a wonderful addition to our collection. I asked our 6th-grade students to reflect on their nonfiction book project through a feedback survey. Here's what some of them had to say:
"I think that the visual designs I created will stand out and I am proud of them."
"Maybe I would use more of the provided, trusted websites and include more information."
"I felt like I did really well finding photos, pasting credit, and finding a design for the book."
"My biggest accomplishment was completing the book itself."
"While I wrote this book I got to learn more about where I am from and my ancestors and I feel like that is my biggest win."
These reflections showcase the students' growth, accomplishments, and pride in their work.
