Click "add extension"

The extension will show up above your bookmarks bar or to the right of your search bar (top right corner of your screen).

You can manage your extensions by right clicking on any extension to the right of the search bar (top right corner of your screen).

Sign in with your ARPS account

  • Save videos to your Google Drive? **Yes!

  • Accept Permissions in Step 2 and "Allow Access" to your ARPS Google Account.

  • And answer the questions in Step 3 (are you a teacher/student, etc.)

Click the extension:

"Desktop" will show only your desktop!

"Embed Webcam" will show both you (web cam) and your desktop.

"Webcam Only" will show only you, but not your desktop.

When you click record you will be prompted to share your screen.

You must click on the window you want to share (i.e. your desktop) only then will you be able to press the blue SHARE Button.

Your screencast will open in a new tab and immediately begin uploading to your Google Drive.

Helpful Tips:

Name your video!

The longer the video, the longer it will take to upload and render.

Be sure to change the viewing options! If it is "Private" only you will be able to see it.

Advanced: Upload to YouTube - don't forget the viewing permissions again!

Answer:

YouTube provides almost real-time closed captioning where Google drive does not. You can add closed captioning to a video in Google Drive but you have to provide the text (i.e. type it yourself).
