Sora in the classroom
Information on all of our digital resources and how to use them in your (distance) classroom and curriculum!
Sora is the application that Fort River Library uses for ebooks and audiobooks. Sora is available on all devices. Fort River shares the books on Sora with libraries across Massachusetts through the Massachusetts' Library System (MLS) Commonwealth eBook Collection.
(You may have used Libby at a public library. It's the same thing!)
For students who benefit from audio, we can pair the physical book from our library shelves so they can read along while listening to the audio through Sora. This can support many students, including developing readers who need support accessing grade-level texts.
Use your Sora account with a projector to display an eBook and read aloud as a class!

Looking for a more specific list of books? Come talk to us and we can curate a list for your class.
Include Sora during choice time, readings stations, iPad breaks, and independent reading!
Using Chromebooks, students grades 3-6 can access Sora's nonfiction resources for research or fiction for fun.
