March Break and One-Day Camps (PD)

Osprey Summer Camps

Registration will open March 2nd at 10am.

Osprey Summer Camps are available to both Armbrae Families and those who don't attend Armbrae Academy. Camps run from June 22nd to August 28th and offer a range of exciting summer experiences for grades Pre-Primary to Gr. 8. (Grade levels for each camp are the grade your child will enter in the fall.)

***Campers must be at least 4 years old in order to attend camp.

Signature Camps: on campus with some off-site walking adventures.

Discovery Camps: based on campus with one off-site trip that requires a cost.

Speciality Camps: provided in partnership with educational organizations including Mad Science, and Robothink.

Osprey Academy: half days with a focus on developing skills.

Campers engage in themed projects as well as rotating through activities in the games room, gym and our outdoor playground and wooded area. Camp is located in our school at 1400 Oxford St.

There are no more than 15 campers in a camp group.

Camp Hours: Camp 9:00am-4:30pm with BeforeCare 8:00am-9:00am (extra $50 per week)

Signature Osprey Camps Cost: $300 (Armbrae students) $325 (Non-Armbrae)

Osprey Discovery Camps Cost: $310 (Armbrae students) $335 (Non-Armbrae)

Specialty Osprey Camps Cost: $350 (Armbrae students) $375 (Non-Armbrae)

Osprey Academy Costs: Vary based on program. Armbrae students get $25 off.

Fees include a camp shirt as well as lunch and a snack each day. (Osprey Academy excluded)

All fees must be paid in full at time of registration in order to secure your spot.

Signature Camps

Digging Dinos (Gr PP-P)

Digging Dinos Camp is the ultimate adventure for young paleontologists. Campers will spend a week digging into the past, exploring the fascinating world of dinosaurs through exciting dino digs, building dino fossils, and discovering ancient creatures that once roamed the Earth! From hands-on excavation activities to creative dino crafts, this camp is packed with fun and learning. So grab your explorer hat and get ready to uncover prehistoric treasures—let’s dig deep into dino history!

Exploring Colours (Gr. PP to P)

Campers will dive into a new colour each day through creative crafts, painting, games, and dress-up fun. From mixing shades to making vibrant masterpieces, they'll explore the magic of the rainbow in exciting and hands-on ways. Whether splattering paint, experimenting with colour combinations, or designing colourful creations, this camp is all about imagination, creativity, and fun. Let’s paint the world with colour!

Water Fun (Gr. PP to P)

Campers will dive into a week of exciting water adventures. From thrilling water games and creative splash activities to exploring the science of water in fun and interactive ways, every day brings a new way to cool off and have a blast. Whether it’s water balloon battles, slip ‘n slides, or hands-on water experiments, this camp is perfect for kids who love to get wet and wild! Don’t forget your swimsuit—it's going to be a splash-tastic time!

Lego Camp (Gr. PP to 3)

Campers will tackle a new and exciting building challenge every day, using their imagination and problem-solving skills to create amazing Lego masterpieces. From designing vehicles to constructing intricate structures, they’ll explore endless ways to use Lego for fun and creativity. Whether building solo or teaming up with friends, each day brings fresh challenges and plenty of hands-on fun. Grab your bricks, let’s build something epic!

Superheroes (Gr. PP to 3)

Campers will step into the world of capes, masks, and superpowers as they dress up as their favorite heroes—or create their very own! Imagination is the ultimate superpower here, and each day will be filled with action-packed games, creative crafts, and exciting challenges. Get ready to save the day!

Games (Gr. 1 to 6)

Do you love playing games? In this camp you will learn some new games and play some of your favourite boardgames, card games, and more! Throughout the camp, you will design and create your own game that you can play with others.

Fur and Feathers (Gr. PP to 3)

Fur, Feathers & Fun Camp is the ultimate summer adventure for young animal lovers! Campers will learn about furry forest friends and feathered flyers to discovering the wonders of reptiles and ocean creatures, each day is packed with fun and discovery. With interactive games, crafts, and outdoor adventures, this camp fosters a love for animals all while making new friends and unforgettable memories!

Exploring Arts (Gr. 1 to 3)

Campers will experiment with a wide range of art materials and learn exciting new techniques to bring their imagination to life. From painting and sculpting to collage and mixed media, each day offers a new artistic adventure. Whether they're crafting colourful masterpieces or exploring different styles, this camp is all about self-expression, creativity, and fun. Get ready to paint, draw, and create—because every camper is an artist!

Bugs and Critters (Gr PP to 3)

Campers will explore the fascinating world of insects from the creepy crawlers to the slimy slitherers. Join us for a week of exploring the outdoors looking for bugs and learning about what makes them awesome!

Adventure Camp: (Gr 1 to 3)

Campers will embark on exciting outdoor explorations every day. From thrilling scavenger hunts and treasure hunts to mini field trips and team challenges, there’s no limit to the fun and discoveries awaiting them! This camp is all about stepping outside, embracing the unknown, and having a blast with new friends while exploring the world around them. Grab your gear, get ready for adventure, and let’s create unforgettable memories!

Drama (Gr 1 to 6)

Explore various trades including Electrical, Automotives, and Plumbing while solving problems and learning how things work.

Exploring and Adventures (Gr. 4 to 6)

Exploring & Adventures Camp is packed with exciting activities that will take campers on a journey of discovery and fun. Each day is filled with new challenges—whether it’s exploring the great outdoors, solving puzzles, going on scavenger hunts, or trying out adventurous sports and games. With a mix of hands-on activities, team-building exercises, and thrilling outdoor adventures, campers will discover new interests, build friendships, and make unforgettable memories. From hiking through nature trails to creating something amazing, this camp is all about embracing adventure, having fun, and exploring the world around you! Let the exploration begin!

Eco Heroes (Gr. 4 to 6)

Learn about ways that you can be a superhero for the environment! Join fellow nature lovers in a mission to fight climate change and reduce our negative impact on the environment.

Engineering (Gr. 4 to 6)

Explore different types of Engineering while learning what it takes to problem solve and make inventions of your own. Join us for a week of designing and building with various materials including LEGO Robotics.

RoboThink - Trains, Planes and Automobiles (Grades PP to 6)

Buckle up for a high-speed, high-flying RoboThink adventure! From building airplanes and helicopters to race cars and trains, students will explore the science behind how things move on land and in the sky. Hands-on STEM fun with no experience needed!

RoboThink: Jr. (Grades PP to P)

Welcome to the remarkable realm of the RoboThink STEM Robotics Team! Prepare to unlock your full potential as you embark on an extraordinary journey into the world of robotics. Throughout this captivating program, students will gain invaluable skills while working with mainboards, DC motors, gears, and axles to bring a wide variety of robot designs to life. From sophisticated humanoid robots to ingenious mechanical contraptions, every creation will showcase your creativity and engineering prowess. But here's the real test– you'll be challenged to build a robot entirely from scratch, igniting your problem-solving abilities like never before. No prior experience necessary– just bring your curiosity and be prepared for a mind-blowing adventure!

Mad Science Crazy Chemists (PP to 3)

Acids/bases, Theme: Chemistry Experiments, Chemical Reactions & Lab Science

What Kids Learn: Kids become "mad scientist chemists" and explore the incredible world of chemistry through explosive reactions, color-changing experiments, and making awesome take-home creations like slime, bouncy balls, and sidewalk chalk!

Daily Breakdown:

Day 1: Lab fundamentals - Introduction to chemistry lab tools (beakers, pipettes, graduated cylinders), chemical mixing basics, Mentos & Coke explosion, crystal stalactite growing

Day 2: Physical vs. chemical reactions - Understanding chemistry through hands-on experiments, making custom sidewalk chalk, shaving cream marbling, "Che-Mystery" investigations

Day 3: Acids & bases - pH testing with rainbow indicators, dry ice experiments, exploring sinking/floating, creating chemical color changes with universal indicator

Day 4: Chemistry of taste & light - Exploring taste buds and the 5 flavors, flour dust explosion (birthday candle fireball!), "Genie in a Bottle" hydrogen peroxide reaction, giant foam eruptions

Day 5: Polymers & adhesives - How Velcro works (inspired by cockleburs), making slime and bouncy balls, exploring super sticky chemistry, gooey polymer experiments

Daily Breakdown:

Day 1: Flight fundamentals - Introduction to aviation science, what keeps things airborne

Day 2: Inventors & forces - Magnetism, electricity, centrifugal force, famous aviation inventors (Wright Brothers, Da Vinci, Einstein)

Day 3: Air pressure & weather - How flight really works through pressure experiments, weather science, mechanical engineering

Day 4: Heat & space - Building planes, exploring how heat affects flight, introduction to space travel

Day 5: Rockets & galaxies - Space science culminating in launching an actual Mad Science NASA rocket!

Highlights:

Build and fly their own aircraft

Learn about legendary inventors

Hands-on experiments with air pressure, bubbles, and balloons

Launch a real rocket on the final day

Create "glistening galaxies" with bubble experiments

Mad Science Secret Agent (PP to 3)

Theme: Forensic Science, Spy Technology & Mystery Solving

What Kids Learn: Kids become secret agents and learn real forensic science, spy techniques, code-breaking, and detective work through exciting hands-on investigations.

Daily Breakdown:

Day 1: Spy training basics - Introduction to spy work, secret communications, surveillance techniques

Day 2: Forensic sleuths - Crime scene investigation, evidence collection, observation skills (inspired by Sherlock Holmes)

Day 3: Sound science - Using sound for surveillance, hidden messages, spy communication technology

Day 4: Locks & security - Understanding security systems, lock-picking science, code-breaking with padlocks

Day 5: Fiber analysis - Advanced forensics, analyzing fabric evidence to solve mysteries

Highlights:

Solve a week-long mystery by eliminating suspects each day

Learn real forensic techniques (fingerprinting, fiber analysis, evidence collection)

Practice observation skills with "secret boxes"

Race against time to crack locks and codes

Use scientific method to solve crimes like real detectives

Osprey Academy Camps

Half days 9:00am to 12:30pm or 12:45pm to 4:15pm

Kindred Knitters (Gr. 6 to 9)

Do you love knitting or have you always wanted to try? Learn to knit the traditional way but also with repurposed fabrics and even using our arms as needles! Join us for a crafty week where you will get to keep the supplies required to continue your knitting adventures.

Creative Crocheting (Gr. 6 to 9)

A fun week of chains and stitches for beginners and those who want to work on projects like beautiful squares and cute stuffed animals.

Young Leaders (Gr. 6 to 9)

This camp is designed for those who would like to be camp leaders in the future. Students participate in training, develop curriculum for camp, and build skills that allow them to be inclusive and caring leaders. Participants will have the opportunity to practise being interviewed, help out with the camps, and learn more about supporting all types of learners.
