WEEK 7 ONGOING TASKS
MATHS FOR THE WHOLE WEEK! Use the attached rubric and pick two activities a day to complete. Put ay work you need to do in your purple workbook.

Sacred Heart Speech Day - Students are encouraged to write a speech for this during week 6 at home. Do a little each day and have them practice every day. There is information for this in the students pack.
Follow a procedure/ recipe to create something: Help Mum/Dad to cook something and share your procedure/recipe and end result with us.

Fitness: Youtube Just Dance, create an obstacle course outside, see how may pushups/situps/star jumps etc you can do in 30 seconds.

Sounds and words booklet - Read the pages 54 - 56.
Read an Initialit reader and answer the comprehension questions in your purple book. Encourage students to write their answers in full sentences using the book and question to spell words correctly when answering.
Optional - Grab bag sentences (Parents/siblings read the sentence to the students. The student writes the sentence in their book using their tricky word knowledge and letter sounds. Encourage them to use what they know and please don't tell them how to spell the words unless they really need help.) Days are labelled on the back of the sentence.
Optional - Tricky word match (just like memory but with tricky words. Students have to say the tricky word to be able to collect the pair).
Extra KLA Activity
KLA Activity of the Day theme is: Engineering!
You are all going to become engineers this week by creating some Lego creations!
You will need any Lego pieces you have in your house, or some blocks if you don't have any Lego. You could also choose to engineer your daily challenges in any materials you have around the house - cardboard boxes, paper, plastic containers - whatever you can find!
Today's challenge is to make the world's tallest tower! See how high you can build a Lego tower out of the materials you have at home.
Take a picture of your creation and send it in!!

Today's engineering challenge is to build a bridge. You might like to research different types of bridge structures for some ideas. Once done, see how much weight your bridge can hold!

Today's Engineering challenge is to build an enclosure for the schools' new pet - Tyrannosaurus Rex! Make sure you have walls high enough to keep T-Rex safely locked away!
