Spelling

• Look, Cover, Write, Check each word from your spelling list

• Complete your Word Sorts

  • • Yellow Group - Short -e and Long -e

    • Green Group - or, ore, oar, w+or

    • Blue Group - Agents and Comparatives (agents are people who do things ending in or and er, comparatives compare two or more things)

    • Orange Group - Suffixes -y, -ly, -ily

    • Red Group - Greek Roots (tele, phon, photo, graph)

• Write complex or compound sentences for five of your list words

• Find synonyms for five of your list words

Reading

• The Super Six Reading Strategy for this week is Making Connections

• Complete the Reading Comprehension Card task (sent through Google Classroom)

• Read to Self Journal

Writing

• Continue working on your speech throughout this week. Keep practicing in front of the mirror or your family.

The writing focus for week 8 and 9 will be Procedures.

A procedure is an informative text that provides a step-by-step sequence of activities to complete a task.

Each day you are to write a different procedure.

Examples include; getting ready for school, making fairy bread, brushing your teeth, getting the horses ready to ride, making my bed… the list is endless)

You can write about your KLA activity for each day, making your lava lamps from last week or storm in a cup, anything!

Procedures will have:

• Title

• Aim/Goal

• What you need

• Steps, Method or Instructions

• Evaluation/Conclusion

Our KLA theme for this week is following Procedures to cook, build or complete an activity.

If you have the ingredients to cook, and your parents permission, here is a link to today's activity - Chocolate Spiders. If you don't have these ingredients in the house or there is no one to supervise your cooking, we would like you to follow a Procedure to build or create something. This might include following Lego instructions or doing something around the house.
