Health & Movement Science (Formerly PDHPE)
Units: 2 Units
Lessons: 8 per cycle
Theory: Theoretical based subject where students study and explore a range of practical and health related sport science concepts.
Practical: The only practical activities involved in this course are based around laboratories and testing of biomechanical, fitness and skill acquisition principles

Community & Family Studies
Units: 2 Units
Lessons: 8 per cycle
Theory: Theoretical based subject where students study and explore their understanding of the diverse nature and interdependence of families and communities within Australian society. It helps students to plan and manage resources effectively in order to address contemporary issues facing families and communities.
Practical: The practical activities involved in this course are excursions linked to study. These are visits to child care centres, aged care facilities and contact with support services and community organisations.

VET: Cert III Fitness
Units: 2 Units (240hrs)
Lessons: 8 per cycle
Overview: This VET Course is a combination of practical and theory based learning. Students will be learning in both Classroom and Gym settings. All assessment will be competency based and includes physical demonstration of skills and written tasks. The course also requires 30 hours of work placement to be completed.

Sport, Lifestyle & Recreation
Units: 1 unit/1 year or 2 units/2 years
Lessons: 4 per cycle
Theory: The theoretical components of this course allow students to develop knowledge and understanding of the value of physical activity, competence in a variety of sport and recreational contexts, and skills in planning to be active. Students will also be able to develop an awareness of social and community values in sport, as well as develop a deeper understanding of interaction between society, sport, recreation and fitness.
Practical: The practical activities involved in this course are based around biomechanical, fitness and skill acquisition principles, along with safe environments in Aquatics, Athletics, Outdoor Recreation, Resistance Training, Sports Coaching. practical relevance reinforcing the importance of being active and helping to develop a repertoire of skills that will assist students to remain active throughout their lives

Yr 12 - Games and Sport Application 1, Resistance Training (40%), Athletics (30%), Exam (30%)
Potential Careers: The Sport, Lifestyle and Recreation Content Endorsed Course develops in each student the knowledge, understanding and skills needed to adopt active and health-promoting lifestyles.

Exploring Early Childhood
Units: 1 unit
Lessons: 4 lessons per fortnight
Theory: Exploring Early Childhood Stage 6 aims to develop understanding, skills and strategies to enable students to support and foster positive growth and development in the young children with whom they interact through the provision of safe, nurturing and challenging environments.
Practical: This course has a practical component and is considered important, and highly desirable that students have the opportunity to interact with young children on a regular basis. The purpose of this interaction is to observe children, and to gain experience in understanding and relating to individual children.
