'Must reads' for an understanding of Living Well, Learning Well key ideas
All staff in Armidale Diocese schools are introduced to the Living Well, Learning Well Framework and Policy and Procedures documents in staff learning sessions and/or induction processes.
Please read the work on student connection to school by Anne Graham and colleagues at The Centre for Children and Young People, at Southern Cross University. Student Participation: A quick reference guide for Schools (2019) and Student Participation: A good practice guide for Schools (2019) make an excellent start. More readings are included in the Resource folder.
David Armstrong's (2019) article Addressing the wicked problem of behaviour in schools is essential reading for those interested in moving beyond a behaviour management approach to student behaviour support.
Enhancing Student Wellbeing: A review of research for Catholic Education Melbourne (2017) by Helen Cahill and colleagues at the University of Melbourne provides clear findings and direction for using an ecological model for understanding wellbeing and a whole-school approach for promoting wellbeing.
'Rules for Living' and 'Families as Partners in Catholic School Communities' are published and distributed single page documents. 'Rules for Living' will be seen in all classrooms. Both documents are distributed to families, used in enrolment interviews and often used in school-family conversations.
