During Classroom Time:
Students may not use phones in class unless a teacher specifically authorizes them.
At the start of every class, students will place their phones in a designated phone caddy or holder.
Phones may not remain in pockets, on desks, or in backpacks during class.
Phones may not be taken to the hallway or bathroom during class unless a documented accommodation allows it.
Enforcement & Consequences
Verbal reminder of classroom expectations.
Phone held by teacher in a labeled envelope until the end of class.
Phone sent to the office to be picked up at the end of the day.
Parent pickup required for repeated violations, followed by a conference.
Persistent issues may lead to a daily phone check-in requirement.
This adjustment is meant to:
Reduce daily conflict between students and teachers over phones
Align expectations across all classrooms
Support students in developing healthier habits around technology use
