Gay-Straight Alliances, or GSA/QSAs, are student-led and student-organized school clubs that aim to create a safe, welcoming, and accepting school environment for all youth, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. OMS student elected to call their club the Queer Straight Alliance (QSA) in 2017. Ottoson was the first ever middle school GSA started over 10 years ago.
