¡Hola y bienvenidos! My name is Molly Dingley and I am a licensed Spanish teacher for grades 5-12. I'm originally from NY, I lived in UT for 8 years, and now I've landed in Boston, closer to family.
I have my Masters of Teaching Spanish and have spent the last 14 years teaching in both middle School and high school settings. I absolutely LOVE my job at AHS as a high school Spanish teacher. AHS has the BEST students, families, and faculty! Go Spy ponders!
I am especially excited to share my love for the Spanish language, culture, and travel with my students this year. I'm looking forward to helping them in any way they need to facilitate growth and belonging in the classroom!
Outside of school, you can find me outside with my pup running in the reservations, mountain biking, nordic skiing, or baking up some yummy cookies. I also love reading and Netflix series in Spanish.

Class Values and Objectives
¡Bienvenidos! In Profe Dingley's Spanish class, we will focus on developing language proficiency in the interpretive (reading & listening), interpersonal (unrehearsed spoken or written conversation), and presentational (rehearsed speaking & writing) modes of communication. Language proficiency is described as what a speaker can do with language in authentic, real-world settings, rather than what a learner may know about language (i.e., knowing how to navegate a conversation vs. memorizing the verb endings of tenses and writing them on a test).
In order to develop language proficiency, learners must be exposed to comprehensible language input and must be expected to produce output. This means that our class will be taught nearly 100% in Spanish, with visual aids where appropriate! It is proven that an immersive provides the best results!
Our classroom will be a safe space for learners of all backgrounds to come together as a community. We will spend time cultivating this community and becoming comfortable with being uncomfortable. Making mistakes is essential to learning and growth! -Taking risks is especially key in language learning, and students will always be encouraged to experiment with the Spanish language and try saying something they've never said before. We often surprise ourselves with how much we reallyare able to do!
