Welcome to 8th Grade Civics with Mr.Livingstone!!
Hi and welcome to 8th grade Civics! I’m really excited for what should be a fun and engaging school year. In this class, much of our learning will happen through debates and simulations, which means students will be actively involved and at the center of the learning. Throughout the year, we will explore the structure of American government and examine how the three branches work together and interact. Our guiding question for the year is:
What is the role of a citizen in a democracy?

My name is Mr.Livingstone. I have been teaching at the Ottoson for the past 5 years and this is my 2nd year doing Civics! Along with teaching Civics, I also run the Debate club at OMS and coach the boys varsity soccer team at Lexington HS. I love reading history books, playing soccer, and learning new things!
