Start a New Club

I have an idea for a club... What should I do first?

Rather than starting a new club, you can join one!

AHS has over 90 different student clubs! There's a really good chance that a club like your idea already exists. Check out the pages on this website to see if there's a club you could join to explore your interests.

The clubs are divided into the following categories:

  • Activism and Politics

  • Arts, Literature, and Entertainment

  • Community Service and Outreach

  • Health and Wellness

  • International, Spiritual, or Cultural Studies

  • Professional, Informational, or Academic

But I really need to start a club so that my college application is impressive!

Actually, that's not necessary! Colleges and universities are looking to see your commitment and sustained involvement in a club - you don't have to be the founder or the president to show your interests and passion.

I definitely have a NEW idea for a club that doesn't already exist. What else do I need?

In order to start a club, you need two things:

  1. A minimum of THREE students who are interested in being members (including you).

  2. A teacher or staff member who will serve as the club's advisor.

Got it! What are the next steps?

You should get in touch with the Club Coordinators, Ms. Begin (jbegin@arlington.k12.ma.us) and Ms. Miller (mmiller@arlington.k12.ma.us). You will need to fill out a New Club Profile. Once you've done that, send it to Ms. Begin and Ms. Miller and they will get you set up!
