This project explores Charlotte, NC, through remote sensing and GIS, using Landsat 8 imagery and the terra package in R to analyze urban and natural landscapes. By applying false color composites and spectral indices like NDVI and MNDWI, the study reveals key patterns in vegetation, water distribution, and urban development.
This project used remote sensing and GIS programming to analyze the March 3, 2025 wildfire in Uwharrie National Forest, focusing on burn severity and temperature changes. By leveraging satellite imagery and R programming, we visualized fire impact using indices like dNBR and false-color composites, providing insights into post-fire effects.
