This will be my 8th year in Argyle, having spent the 11 years prior as the Theatre Director at Harpool Middle School. Prior to teaching at Harpool, I served as Associate Director of Theatre at Denton High School for 3 years. In past summers I have been honored to direct in various camps in the DFW area and also serve as a Contest Manager for High School UIL One-Act Play in the spring ranging from Zone to State contest! In addition, I have enjoyed working as an actor, director, and producer outside of school for various theaters over the years.
On a personal note, I am blessed to be a mother of two kids- an Argyle graduate and freshman at Oklahoma Univeristy, and a sophmore at Guyer HS- and am crazy fortunate to teach with my awesome husband and best friend, Travis. Go Team Turek!
I feel very fortunate to do what I do and relished every moment of teaching, as well as the continual process of learning as an educator. Albert Einstein said that "Learning is not a product of schooling but the lifelong attempt to acquire it." I am a firm believer in this philosophy. Being a teacher has afforded me the opportunity to pursue my art form while instilling a love of theatre in others.
This is my 8th year teaching in Argyle. Prior to coming to Argyle ISD, I spent 14 years at 3 different middle schools in Denton ISD. (Fun fact: before becoming the RedHawks this year, I had an Eagle mascot 4 different times- my elementary school, my 8th grade year at a private school, my post-grad work at UNT, and then Argyle ISD!) Before starting to teach Theatre in 2018, I had taught all levels of middle school Social Studies, as well as some English and Science!
I was involved in theatre and choir in high school, have been involved at times with several community theatres around the area, and served as the tech director for all of Mrs. Turek's productions, even when teaching other subjects.
All of my family information is exactly the same as above, because I have the honor and privilege of being married to- and working with- my best friend.
