Theatre Arts is an exciting, hands-on course designed to introduce students to the world of performance and technical theatre. Throughout the year, students will build confidence, creativity, communication, and collaboration skills while exploring the many roles that bring stories to life on stage.
Students will learn the fundamentals of acting through movement, voice, improvisation, storytelling, script analysis, character development, and scene work. They will also explore technical theatre, including costumes, makeup, scenery, props, lighting, stage management, publicity, and theatre history. The course culminates in a full production experience where students participate in auditions, rehearsals, performances, and backstage production responsibilities.
This course is designed to prepare students for advanced theatre experiences while fostering creativity, responsibility, problem-solving, and self-confidence.
