Hello!
I have been teaching since 2014 and joined the Argyle High School family in 2025. Before coming to AHS, I spent 10 wonderful years teaching World History in Lewisville ISD at Lewisville High School Harmon Campus. During my time there, I was honored to be named LHS Harmon Teacher of the Year in 2020 and received the Honorary Life Membership Award from the Texas Congress of Parents and Teachers. These recognitions mean so much to me because they reflect the relationships I've built with my students, families, and colleagues throughout my career. 🏆
Teaching has always been my passion! I absolutely love getting to know my students (or as I like to call them, my kiddos) and helping them discover that history is so much more than memorizing dates and names. My classroom is a place where I want students to ask questions, think critically, challenge themselves, and maybe even laugh a little along the way. My goal is to push every student to reach their fullest potential while providing them with the skills and confidence they'll need to be successful in college, their careers, and wherever life takes them. 📚✏️
One of the things I love most about World History is seeing how civilizations, cultures, and people have shaped the world we live in today. Whether we're discussing powerful empires, global revolutions, or the interconnectedness of our world, I hope my students leave my class with a greater appreciation for history and a curiosity that extends beyond the classroom.
Outside of school, I'm a born-and-raised Texan who loves spending time with my husband, our two energetic little boys, and our two crazy labradors. I also have deep roots in this community—I'm proud to be the great-granddaughter of the founder of Double Oak! Because of that, the history, traditions, and farmland of this area will always hold a special place in my heart. 🤠🌾
When I'm not teaching, you'll often find me reading a good book, spending time with my family, or cheering on our students at their extracurricular events. I love supporting my kiddos both inside and outside the classroom, and there's nothing better than seeing them succeed in academics, athletics, fine arts, and all the incredible things they pursue. 🎭🏈🎺📖
I'm excited for another amazing school year and look forward to partnering with you to make it a successful, challenging, and memorable experience. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you ever have questions or concerns. Here's to a fantastic year—we're going to make history together! 😁🌍
