As a certified Texas educator with thirty years experience, I am excited about the opportunity to contribute to the tradition of excellence that distinguishes Argyle ISD.
I hold a lifetime Social Studies Composite certification for grades 6–12, an English Language Arts and Reading certification for grades 8–12, and an ESL Supplemental certification for grades 6–12. These certifications have allowed me to serve a diverse student population while developing engaging, rigorous instruction that supports both academic achievement and literacy development across content areas.
Throughout my career, I have been passionate about helping students understand the significance of history and its connection to the world around them. I strive to create a classroom environment where students actively engage with history, analyze primary and secondary sources, develop critical thinking skills, and participate in meaningful discussions.
My commitment to excellence in education has been recognized through several professional honors. I was named Carroll Middle School Teacher of the Year for the 2018–2019 school year and was honored to receive the Carroll ISD Inspire Excellence Award in October 2024. These recognitions reflect my dedication to student success, instructional innovation, and positive collaboration with colleagues, families, and the broader school community.
Beyond academics, I believe that strong relationships are foundational to student growth. I work constantly to create a classroom culture built on respect, accountability, and encouragement, where every student feels valued and empowered to succeed.
I am thrilled to be a part of Argyle ISD and a founding teacher at Scott Gibson Middle School.
