Welcome to 8th Grade Science!

My name is Joy Matthiesen, and this is my 14th year as a teacher! I have taught 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade science, and I love all the branches of science. So, the 8th grade curriculum is perfect, as we will get to cover a little of all of them!

I have three Rottweilers that are my "furkids", and when I am not teaching science, I teach dog training classes! It is the perfect combination of both of my passions, teaching and animals. I also work as a veterinary assistant at a clinic in north Fort Worth. So, a lot of my life revolves around teaching, science, and animals! ☺️
