About me

This is my 9th year teaching PE and my 9th year in Argyle ISD!

I am a hometown girl- I moved to Argyle as a 5th grader in 1991 so I've seen all of the growth over the years!

Sports Background: I played 4 years of volleyball and a year of basketball at Ole Miss so I love coaching PE and being in the gym, as crazy as it can be! I also ran track in high school at Northwest HS.

Coaching background: I've coach volleyball at all levels the past 20 years. I've coached basketball here and there for AYSA as well. I've even coached 3-4 year old soccer for i9 a few times :).

I am a mom to 2 awesome girls and also coach club volleyball on the side.

What will your kiddo do in PE this year? LOTS of stuff!!

Daily we work on locomotor movements, spacial awareness, teamwork, best effort, attitude, INTEGRITY, good sportsmanship, listening and comprehending, following directions, exercise movements, etc...

Some basic skills which we will cover with every age level at some point are throwing, catching, kicking, scoring, defending, shooting, different movements at different speed levels, hand eye coordination, etc..

We also have many Healthy and Body TEKS we cover such as nutrition, basic body systems and mental toughness and strategies.

Please send your kiddo to PE in athletic shoes or put PE shoes in their bag on their PE days!

This allows them to participate fully and safely. We know it can be a confusing schedule to keep up with so if you have doubt- just put the in tennis shoes for the day!

If your child needs to sit out of PE because of an injury or recovering from an illness, etc please send in a note or email stating the child's name, homeroom, reason for sitting out or activities they can't do (No running, no jumping, etc..) You can email me, the homeroom teacher or the nurse and it will get forwarded to the appropriate people.

If your child is injured and will miss more than 3 classes in a 7 day period, a doctor's note is needed to continue to sit out. If possible, please have the doctor be specific about what they can or can't do. Some students can participate but in a limited way. We will follow the doctor's orders. If a student is cleared to participate by the doctor then we will need a new doctor's note stating they are cleared and ready to return to normal activities.
