Hello Argyle West Families!

My name is Emily Denison and I am your school counselor! I am SO excited to be apart of the AWE community! 

I am so excited to be beginning my first year as the school counselor at AWE. While this is my first year as a school counselor, I bring a unique background to this role with three years of experience as an elementary teacher and two years providing counseling services in a residential substance use treatment facility. I have always been passionate about supporting children’s social, emotional, and academic growth, and I feel incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve the students, families, and staff at Argyle West.

I earned my Bachelor's degree in educational psychology from Texas A&M University (WHOOP), before completing a Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-Associate) and am currently completing my second master's degree in School Counseling. My experiences in both the classroom and counseling have strengthened my belief that every child deserves to feel seen, supported, and empowered to succeed.

I grew up in the Argyle area, so joining Argyle ISD truly feels like coming home. Outside of school, I enjoy cheering on the Texas A&M Aggies, spending time with my Australian Shepherd/Border Collie mix (Cedar), staying active, traveling, and making memories with my family and friends.

I am passionate about building meaningful relationships with students, collaborating with teachers, and partnering with families to help every child reach their full potential. My goal is to create a safe, welcoming environment where all students feel valued, supported, and encouraged to grow both academically and personally.
