Welcome to the world of STEM! I am SO excited to work with our Argyle West Eagles as the PK-5 STEM Teacher. My hope for all students is to challenge their thinking, spark joy & passion as they learn about the world around them using Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math; and develop their confidence as learners using STEM skills (perseverance, problem-solving, developing a growth mindset, collaboration, and creativity).

I am married to my high school sweetheart, Brent. We have two kids: Evie, a kindergartener, and Rhett, a third-grader at West this year. We also have two puppies: Mac and Hank. We love playing games, hiking, spending time at the lake, and having kitchen dance parties.

I earned my undergraduate degree from the University of Oklahoma (GO SOONERS!) in Zoology-Biomedical Science and later earned my master's degree in Curriculum & Instruction, focusing on Math and Science Integration, from the University of Houston (Go Coogs!).

Before coming to Argyle, I taught 5th-grade math and science, as well as 6th- and 7th-grade compacted math, in Northwest ISD, while writing curriculum for Science and the Outdoor Learning Center. I began my teaching career as an 8th-grade science teacher, Science curriculum writer, and cheerleading coach in Denton ISD. This will be my 17th year in the classroom. I am also a proud member of the Science Teachers Association of Texas (STAT) Executive Board, where we serve Science Teachers around the state through various initiatives, including our annual conference, CAST.

I cannot imagine a greater joy than awakening the limitless potential for greatness in kids, and I am honored to work with each of my students. I am most excited about plugging into the Argyle community and building relationships with families that will span their entire AWE experience. Please feel free to reach out to me at any time.
