About me
Hello! My name is Danielle Blair and I have a passion for teaching and coaching I am excited about providing an opportunity for continual growth and learning! In our competitive society it is important not only to receive a top notch education, but to have a teacher who is aware of and sensitive to the student’s / athlete's individual needs. Working at Argyle High School as one of the Head Tennis coaches the last 2 years has been a joy and the success is a testament to the hard working, passionate and driven tennis players we have. I am excited to also now by one of the head coaches for the middle school as well! I was recently named the UIL and National Federation of State High School Association, Coach of the Year for the State of Texas! Once again this is a testament of the team's success and also working with the man, the myth the ledgend Adam Mihok! Looking forward to another fantastic year as an Eagle!
I grew up in Colleyville and played volleyball and basketball at Grapevine High School. I earned an academic scholarship to McMurry University in Abilene, where I played both volleyball and tennis. I found success on the tennis court as well earning a conference championship in 2005 in both in singles and in doubles. I received the MVP award for tennis in 2004 and 2005. On the volleyball court I was also awarded MVP for 2 years. I am in the National Top 20 NCAA for All Time Dig Average and set several records for McMurry and the American Southwest Conference (ASC). The ASC awarded me with Female Athlete of the Year in 2004. In May 2005, I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and went through the pre-medical program.
This will be my third year at Argyle and my 17th year in education and I am really excited to building positive relationships with my students and athletes! Previously I worked 3 years in Decatur coaching both HS and MS tennis and teaching Anatomy & Physiology (A&P). I spent 11 years teaching PreAP Biology and Anatomy Physiology at Colleyville Heritage High School (CHHS). I also coached tennis and volleyball at CHHS. Before CHHS I taught PreAP biology and Anatomy and Physiology at Coppell High School for one year.
My husband Brian also has a passion for coaching and is the offensive line / running backs coordinator at Marcus High School. We are a busy blended family and we have 4 fun and energetic kids: Brooklyn (14), Reed (12), twin girls - Emma and Eva (10). I am also a licensed massage therapist and continue to practice in my spare time. I love being in nature, working out, chess, triathlons, coffee, kayaking and most importantly creating memories with my family!
