About me
I came to the US in 1995, and I’m originally from Valencia, Venezuela. I taught music for 19 years, and this will be my 6th year teaching Spanish at Argyle ISD. I have a daughter, Sara, a son, Miguel and a very spoiled dog, Blanca. When I’m not at work with my fabulous students, I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I love playing pickleball, swimming, puzzles, crafting, and reading science fiction.

Education
I graduated from High School in Valencia, Venezuela. Then, received my bachelor in music education from Texas Woman’s University in 2001, and my LOTE Spanish certification in 2019.
Work Experience
This is my 24th year as a public school teacher and my 6th year at Argyle ISD. I taught music for 19 years then switch to Spanish in 2020. I've taught adults, middle school students, high school students, and elementary kids. I have also served as a pianist, and choir director on several churches around Denton since 1996.
Philosophy
I believe languages are deeply attached to cultures; and culture, in my opinion, is a group of experiences that bring us together. As we learn about different cultures, we compare, and integrate other ideas into our own beliefs. Exploring these ideas, places, and food will unify us, create better understanding, and allow us to connect, empathize and feel compassion for others.
I can teach and inspire students by having a positive outlook and by providing the tools for them to succeed inside and outside the classroom.
