ART

Please send in your clean, clear, empty water bottles! We are collecting them for an upcoming Dale Chihuly project!

Are you ready for the Great American Road Trip? This year in art, 5th graders will travel the USA, learning about different regions, artists and many aspects that make our country great! We will be using all types of media to express our ideas as we learn about various art styles and techniques!

All year long these important policies are in place to make sure it's a safe and fun year:

  1. Students MUST wear athletic shoes - flat/rubber sole shoes that fit snug to their foot. NOT allowed: Any type of sandal, boots, crocs, open-toed shoes...Students can always bring PE shoes and change into them before they come to class or in the gym. We do not have a place for them to store PE shoes. If a student does wear the wrong shoes, grace will be given at the start. We will have them choose some stationary exercises they can do on the side in order for them to still get some activity in.

  2. Wear comfy clothing!- we move a lot! Girls need to wear shorts under their dresses if they wear one.

  3. If a kid is hurt/sick and needs to sit out of PE, please send a note or email letting us know. A parent note/email will cover them for 3 days. If they are still too hurt to participate, a doctor's note is required in order for them to continue to sit out. Depending on their restrictions, we will try and let them participate as much as possible!

  4. If a kid needs to sit out of PE, it is also school policy that they need to take it easy at recess too.
