The Girl’s Tennis Team played their first away game against Brunswick on March 16th with a final score of 9 - 0, Dragons. The first home game against Sussex Central was postponed due to inclement weather, but the lady dragons came “roaring” back in their away game against Greensville County on March 22nd which concluded with a score of 9 - 0, Dragons. Their match against Windsor on March 29th concluded in a score of 1 - 8, and their second game against Brunswick ended in a score of 9 - 0, Dragons.
The current team roster includes Mary Seward (Surry), Maddie Riggs (Petersburg), Stephanie Maranon - Estrada (Chesterfield), Payton Brown (Chesterfield), Blakely Perkinson (Dinwiddie), Alycia Bernard (Chesterfield), Nyla Anderson (Colonial Heights), Grace Smith (Prince George) and Alex Rhodes (Dinwiddie).
“The tennis team is performing really well. I am very proud to say I am on a great tennis team with amazing players,” said Alycia Bernard (Chesterfield). “All the members of the team are really kind and helpful with teaching new tennis players.” She also said the team is excited for a great new season of making memories, teamwork and friendships.

The ARGS Music Department Spring Showcase presents TWO more nights of live music for your enjoyment this week.
TONIGHT, Wednesday May 18 we will rock the house with our fabulous Jazz Band.
TOMORROW, Thursday, May 19 will feature our Orchestra and Guitar classes, held at the new auditorium at the Petersburg Library.
All concerts begin at 7 PM. One ticket buys you admission to ALL of the concerts. Tickets can be pre-ordered with the QR code on the poster on the hallway monitor, the link in your email, or at the door. $5 students and $10 for adults and seniors.

Do you love art? Do you love activism? You should come to English 12 CC’s show: Saving the World in 5 on Friday, May 20th. There’s a lot of amazing things happening that are both art and activism! There’s a dance, a cooking show, a community garden presentation, a Be Kind Campaign, and a dive into the world of fast fashion. ALSO! There’s free things! For you! Free! So come to the James L Ruffa Auditorium from 7-8:30 this Friday.
