'Dear Parents/Carers,
As 2025 draws to a close I'd like to wish you all, on behalf of the whole Ardley Hill team, a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We have thoroughly enjoyed the Christmas festivities on offer this week from Christmas dinner day to making our Christmas crafts the children have all really gotten into the festive spirit! It has been really touching to read some of the heartfelt messages written by the children and staff this week in our light a candle in someone's memory event; thank you to Mrs Waterman for organising this.
I hope that you are able to spend precious time with loved ones this Christmas and enjoy making memories. Christmas is not always an easy or happy time for everyone so please look after yourselves and your beautiful children. We have thoroughly enjoyed spending the week with them getting into the Christmas spirit . They have all been truly fantastic and are now in need of a rest!
I look forward to seeing you all in 2026!
Merry Christmas
Mrs Romina Lang

Please ensure that you notify the school via the absence line on the school phone or by email if your child is absent from school for any reason. If we are not notified of the reason for a child's absence, the absence will be recorded as unauthorised and will count against overall school absences for the year, culminating in a fine if a child misses 10 or more sessions (5 days) of unauthorised absence.
You will have noticed at drop off and collection that we have invested in some privacy screening on our gate and fencing to support the safeguarding of pupils whilst they are on our site. This provides extra privacy towards members of the public being able to see into school whilst the children are out playing.
We are looking forward to seeing lots of you for our leadership coffee morning in the new year. This is an opportunity for you to pop into school and meet the team and find out more about whole developments that have been taking place and our school development plan for the rest of the year. We will send out a google form in the new year for you to confirm attendance if you would like to.
Children should return to school after the Christmas break on Tuesday 6th January. The school gates will open at 8:35am and shut by 8:45am any children who arrive to school after 8:45 need to arrive through the school office with a adult where they will be marked as late.
From January when we return after Christmas, all emails from parents/carers of children in preschool should be sent to the office as the preschool email address will cease to exist. Preschool will continue to communicate with parents and carers via Tapestry and the main school email in line with the rest of Early Years and the whole school.
We are writing to kindly remind everyone of the importance of parking considerately and safely around the school during drop-off and pick-up times.
Recently, we have received a number of complaints from local residents regarding cars blocking driveways, parking on pavements, and creating congestion near the school gates. We fully understand how busy these times of day can be, but we ask for your continued cooperation in helping to maintain a safe and respectful environment for everyone in our community.
Please be mindful not to obstruct residents’ access to their homes, and avoid stopping in no-parking zones or on yellow lines. If possible, consider parking a little further away and walking the short distance to school.
Thank you for your understanding and support in keeping our school and local neighbourhood safe and welcoming for all.
We kindly ask that all children come to school with a healthy snack for breaktime. A healthy snack helps keep energy levels up and supports concentration throughout the morning. We have noticed that some children are coming into school with crisps and chocolate bars which is not a healthy option
Some examples of healthy snacks include:
Fresh fruit (e.g. apples, bananas, grapes)
Vegetable sticks (e.g. carrot, cucumber, pepper)
Rice cakes or plain crackers
Cheese portions
Yoghurts (non-sugary)
Just a quick reminder—if you send grapes with your child for snack or lunch, please cut them in half or smaller pieces. Whole grapes can be a choking hazard for young children
Please remember that we are a nut-free school.
We have children in school with severe nut allergies, so we ask that no products containing nuts are brought in under any circumstances. This includes items such as peanut butter, Nutella, snack bars with nuts, and any baked goods containing nuts.
Thank you for your support in helping us keep all children safe and healthy.
