Dear Parents/Carers,
Welcome back to the summer term!
It has been lovely to begin to see some brighter and warmer weather at playtimes, we hope that this continues! A reminder that children are now able to wear their summer uniform to school. If you need any further information on what this constitutes then please visit the relevant section of the school website here.
We have had a lovely first week back. Children were full of enthusiasm and interest as we participated in World Art Day. The children loved hearing from an artist in our assembly and completing workshops throughout the day to further develop their artistic knowledge and skills! Mrs Dupont organised the day brilliantly and I know everyone throughouly enjoyed the experience. The children also spent some of the day beginning to work towards the creation of their class pieces, all ready to auction off to you on our upcoming Art day (see information below).
Thank you for visiting the school to view your child's books on Thursday; the teachers were pleased to see many of you in attendance to review and celebrate the hard work your children have been putting into their learning. We hope you found this a valuable opportunity to see some of the fantastic work your children have been completing and the progress that they are making.
We also ended the week on a high through our REACH assemblies. It was fantastic to celebrate some brilliant examples of our school values in action. Thank you to the parents and carers who attended. It is lovely to have the opportunity to celebrate your children's acheivements with you.
Finally, a special well done to our Year 4 children who worked hard this week to complete their MTC Mock tests. They are working so hard on the quick and accurate recall of their times tables facts and are very well supported by Mr Groves and Mrs Barnett. The official check takes place in June. Some super Maths; well done Year 4!
Our Year 6 children are also working hard to prepare for their SATs in May. Well done to the children for making sure that they are in school for 8.30am each day in order to practice and build confidence in preparation for these tests and beyond!
The summer term is going to be a busy, exciting and rewarding term with much to look forward to. Please do take note of our Sports Day dates below. We wanted to let you know this date in advance so that you can save the date! Further information on timings and arrangements will follow.
I hope that you all have a lovely weekend,
Kind regards,
Mrs Waterman
Head of School

Parental Involvement Policy
Please find our new Parental Involvement Policy on the school website. The policy has been created to enable the school and parents and carers to work in partnership together for the benefit of your children. Children's learning is improved when we are able to work in partnership with children's parents or carers and their wider family.
Our aims through parental involvement are to:
● Enhance the learning experiences of all pupils
● Encourage parents and carers to be involved in their child(ren)'s learning
● Provide a partnership between home and school, seeking to ensure that families feel welcome and valued
● Ensure that maximum use is made of all these adults' skills to enrich learning opportunities
We would like to say a huge congratulations to Mrs Bright who is expecting a baby in the Autumn term.
Please remember that our school operates a strict no-smoking and no-vaping policy. This applies:
Everywhere: This includes all buildings, playgrounds, car parks, and playing fields.
Everytime: The policy is in effect 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including during drop-off, pick-up and after-school events.
Everyone: This policy applies to all staff, parents, visitors, and contractors.
We are writing to kindly remind everyone of the importance of parking considerately and safely around the school during drop-off and pick-up times.
Recently, we have received a number of complaints from local residents regarding cars blocking driveways, parking on pavements, and creating congestion near the school gates. We fully understand how busy these times of day can be, but we ask for your continued cooperation in helping to maintain a safe and respectful environment for everyone in our community.
Please be mindful not to obstruct residents’ access to their homes, and avoid stopping in no-parking zones or on yellow lines. If possible, consider parking a little further away and walking the short distance to school.
Thank you for your understanding and support in keeping our school and local neighbourhood safe and welcoming for all.
The FOAH team invite the children to the Ardley Hill Spring Disco on Thursday 30th April in the school hall. There will be music, dancing, games and refreshments.
Water and squash will be available throughout the discos.
There will be a tuck shop for Years 1–6 to purchase snacks and treats (items costing between 50p–£1). If your child would like to buy something, please send a small amount in an envelope with their name on it. We kindly ask that only a small amount of money be brought into school, as we cannot take responsibility for any cash that goes missing.
Preschool and Reception will have their usual snack options, as this is in school time.

Year 1 and 2: 3.30 - 4.30 (will be taken to the disco by class teacher. Collect from the main green gate after Disco)

This year, every class will be creating a collaborative Art and Design Technology project to showcase at our School Art Exhibition on 3 July. The finished pieces will be auctioned in a silent auction to help raise funds for much-needed art supplies across the year groups.
To help bring these projects to life, we are looking for second-hand, good condition donations of the following items:
Wooden stools (short or tall)
Large mirror (with wooden frame)
Small wooden tables (side or small coffee tables)
Children’s wooden tables with or without chairs
Large planter pots
Wooden chess sets
Wooden garden chairs or benches
Art easels (any size)

If you have any of these items you would be happy to donate, please contact the school office.
Thank you for supporting our young artists and designers!
