Dear Parents/Carers,
The summer term is now well underway and there has been lots of exciting updates to share with you. One of my favourite events of the year took place on Tuesday this week; the Annual Chiltern Learning Trust Gym and Dance show. This is such a highlight for me and I love to watch the energy and enthusiasm from all of the children taking part. Our Ardley Hill children did us proud with two truly amazing performances. It was a high energy and polished performance; I was just so proud of them! Huge thanks to Mrs Liscio and Miss Hibbins for supporting them with learning routines and getting them performance ready; their time and commitment to our children is hugely appreciated. It is personal development opportunities such as this which really allow our children to shine and develop skills beyond the classroom; something I am really passionate about. Well done everyone and thank you to you our parents and carers for supporting your child if they were involved.
Those of you who were able to attend our Leadership coffee morning will be aware that we are developing our behaviour policy this year. Lots of staff training has been taking place and an understanding of behaviour as communication along with rewards and consequences is now becoming more embedded into the culture at Ardley Hill. The children have begun receiving assemblies to support them with positive learning behaviours and we are very close to being able to share our finalised behaviour policy with you.
I am delighted to share that in the final week of the Spring term we received a Quality Assurance review of our curriculum from the Trust Education team. The focus was on core subjects, Maths, Reading and Writing. We were delighted with the positive feedback from this review which demonstrated improvements in teaching and learning since the review carried out the previous academic year. The review highlighted strengths in the curriculum design and leadership of the subjects too. This is a team effort and I am delighted that we are all working together to celebrate our strengths and drive improvements in order to secure the best outcomes for our children.
Finally, a big thanks to FOAH and all of you for supporting our school disco yesterday evening. I was disappointed to be in a governors meeting so was unable to attend. I'm sure the sugar rush lasted well into the evening for you all!
I hope you all have a lovely long weekend; we will welcome the children to school on Tuesday after the bank holiday.
Kind regards,
Mrs Romina Lang
