The deadline for applications is: 3:30pm on 28th February 2022.
(Any applications received after this time will be treated as ‘Late’ and are significantly less likely to be successful.)

To be accepted into Arden Sixth Form, students must have achieved a grade 5-9 in English Language and Mathematics plus three other GCSE subjects at grade 5 or above. In addition to these basic requirements, each subject has specific entrance requirements which need to be met/exceeded in order to be enrolled onto the course. The subject requirements are as follows:
Art & Design: Art GCSE Grade 6 or Distinction in BTEC Art and Design
Biology: Triple Science - Grade 6 in Biology & Grade 6 in one other Science GCSE OR Combined Science GCSE - Grade 6-6
Business: Business GCSE Grade 6 or Business BTEC Distinction or English Language Grade 6 if not previously studied
Chemistry: Triple Science GCSE - Grade 6 in Chemistry AND Grade 6 in one other Science OR Combined Science GCSE - Grade 6-6
Computer Science: Grade 6 in GCSE Computing/Computer Science
Core Maths (1 year Level 3 Qual): Mathematics GCSE at Grade 5 (N.B. This subject is to be taken as a fourth subject in Year 12)
Design & Technology: Design & Technology GCSE Grade 6 or Engineering Cam Nat Distinction / Engineering BTEC Distinction OR Grade 6 in a design related subject if not previously studied
Drama & Theatre Studies: Drama GCSE Grade 6, BTEC Distinction OR evidence of subject ability if not previously studied
Economics: Mathematics GCSE Grade 6 AND English Language GCSE Grade 6
English Language & Literature: English Language GCSE Grade 6
English Literature: English Literature GCSE Grade 6
French: French GCSE Grade 6
Further Mathematics: Mathematics GCSE Grade 7 (N.B. This subject is to be taken as a fourth subject)
Geography: Geography GCSE Grade 6
German: German GCSE Grade 6

IT (Technical Award): IT Cam Nat Level 2 Merit, IT BTEC Distinction OR Mathematics GCSE Grade 5 if not studied before

Physics: Mathematics GCSE Grade 6 PLUS Triple Science GCSE - Grade 6 in Physics & Grade 6 one other Science OR Combined Science GCSE - Grade 6-6
Politics: English Language GCSE Grade 5
Psychology: English Language GCSE Grade 5
Religious Studies: Religious Studies GCSE Grade 6 OR English Language Grade 5 if not studied at GCSE
Spanish: Spanish GCSE Grade 6
The majority of students will study 3 A Levels. However, there is the opportunity for students with a very strong GCSE profile to take 4 subjects.
It is only possible to choose one subject within an Option Block.
Colour coded subjects are available in more than one block to allow different combinations.
It is not possible to take the following subject combinations:
English Literature AND English Language & Literature
Computer Science AND IT Technical Award
Further Mathematics is to be taken as a fourth subject and must be taken in conjunction with Mathematics A Level.
Core Maths is a 1 year Level 3 Qualification equivalent to half an A Level which is taken in Year 12. It is to be taken as a fourth subject and cannot be taken alongside Mathematics A Level.
All courses are subject to minimum Entrance Requirements.
All courses are also subject to demand and teaching availability.
