ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS

To be accepted into Arden Sixth Form, students must have achieved:

• 5 Full GCSEs at Grade 5 or above including English Language GCSE and Mathematics GCSE

In addition to these general requirements, each subject has specific entrance requirements which need to be met / exceeded in order to be enrolled onto the course. The subject requirements are as follows:

• Art (Fine Art) A Level: Art & Design GCSE (Fine Art, Graphics, Craft) Grade 6 / Art & Design BTEC Level 2 Distinction

• Biology A Level: Biology GCSE Grade 6 PLUS one other Science GCSE Grade 6 / Combined Science GCSE Grade 6-6 PLUS Mathematics GCSE Grade 6

• Business A Level: Business GCSE Grade 6 / Cambridge National Enterprise & Marketing Level 2 Distinction OR English Language GCSE Grade 6 if not previously studied 

• Chemistry A Level: Chemistry GCSE Grade 6 PLUS one other Science GCSE Grade 6 / Combined Science GCSE Grade 6-6 PLUS Mathematics GCSE Grade 6

• Computer Science A Level: Computer Science GCSE Grade 6

• Core Maths Level 3 Qualification: Mathematics GCSE Grade 5 

• Drama & Theatre Studies A Level: Drama GCSE Grade 6 / Performing Arts BTEC Level 2 Distinction OR Evidence of subject ability if not previously studied (applicant to provide) 

• Economics A Level: Mathematics GCSE Grade 6 PLUS English Language GCSE Grade 6

• English Language & Literature A Level: English Language GCSE Grade 6

• English Literature A Level: English Literature GCSE Grade 6

• French A Level: French GCSE Grade 6

• Further Mathematics A Level: Mathematics GCSE Grade 7

• Geography A Level: Geography GCSE Grade 6

• German A Level: German GCSE Grade 6

• History A Level: History GCSE Grade 6

• IT: Data Analytics Alternative Academic Qualification: Computer Science GCSE Grade 6 OR IT / Creative iMedia Cambridge National Level 2 Merit 

• Mathematics A Level: Mathematics GCSE Grade 6

• Media Studies A Level: Media Studies GCSE Grade 6 OR English Language GCSE Grade 5 if not previously studied

• Music A Level: Music GCSE Grade 6 / Music Technology NCFE Level 2 Distinction PLUS ALL students Grade 6 in an instrument (may include voice)

• Photography A Level: Photography GCSE Grade 6 OR Art GCSE Grade 6 / Art & Design BTEC Level 2 Distinction OR Media GCSE Grade 6 OR Creative iMedia Level 2 Distinction (known at Arden as Creative Technologies)

• Physical Education A Level: One Triple Science GCSE Grade 6 / Combined Science GCSE 6-6 PLUS Physical Education GCSE Grade 6 (if previously studied) 

• Physics A Level: Physics GCSE Grade 6 PLUS one other Science GCSE Grade 6 / Combined Science GCSE Grade 6-6 PLUS Mathematics GCSE Grade 6

• Politics A Level: English Language GCSE Grade 5

• Product Design A Level: Design & Technology GCSE Grade 6 OR Engineering Cambridge National Level 2 Distinction OR BTEC Level 2 Distinction

• Psychology A Level: English Language GCSE Grade 5 PLUS Mathematics GCSE Grade 5 

• Religious Studie A Levels: Religious Studies GCSE Grade 6 OR English Language GCSE Grade 5 if not previously studied 

• Sociology A Level: English Language GCSE Grade 5
