Primary Criteria:
To be accepted into Arden Sixth Form, students must have achieved:
Grade 5-9 in English Language and Mathematics PLUS three other GCSE subjects at grade 5 or above
Subject Criteria:
In addition to these basic requirements, each subject has specific entrance requirements which need to be met / exceeded in order to be enrolled onto the course. The subject requirements are as follows:
Art: Art GCSE Grade 6 / Art & Design BTEC Level 2 Distinction
Biology: Biology GCSE Grade 6 PLUS one other Science GCSE Grade 6 / Combined Science GCSE Grade 6-6 PLUS Mathematics GCSE Grade 6
Business: Business GCSE Grade 6 / Cambridge National Enterprise & Marketing Level 2 Distinction OR English Language GCSE Grade 6 if not previously studied
Chemistry: Chemistry GCSE Grade 6 PLUS one other Science GCSE Grade 6 / Combined Science GCSE Grade 6-6 PLUS Mathematics GCSE Grade 6
Computer Science: Computer Science GCSE Grade 6

Students must select their subjects from the option blocks published below. The majority of students will study 3 subjects. However, there is the opportunity for students with a very strong GCSE profile to take 4 subjects.
You can choose a maximum of one subject from within any given Option Block.
Subjects in matching colours are available in more than one block to allow for different course combinations.
It is not possible to take English Literature together with English Language & Literature.
Further Mathematics is to be taken as a fourth subject and must be taken in conjunction with Mathematics A Level.
Core Maths is a one-year Level 3 Qualification equivalent to half an A Level which is taken in Year 12. It must be taken as a fourth subject and cannot be taken alongside Mathematics A Level.
All courses are subject to demand and teaching availability.
Final course selection will take place on Enrolment Day when the GCSE results are known.
